ILM House is designed for two closely connected families who envisioned living side by side while enjoying the comfort and independence of their own homes. Rather than separating the residences with a conventional party wall, the design places each home along the edges of the site, allowing a generous shared courtyard to become the heart of everyday life.
Framed by gardens, a swimming pool, and open-air gathering spaces, the courtyard becomes a place where paths naturally cross—children play, conversations linger, and quiet moments are shared. Bridges and lounges gently connect the two homes above, while subtle differences in planning and interiors allow each residence to reflect its owners' individual way of living. Calm, understated architecture provides a timeless backdrop, creating two distinct homes that remain connected through landscape, family, and the simple rituals of everyday life.
